(our Shopper product's stage name at Stop & Shop) on CBS 2 in New York this morning, we're feeling a little famous as we head into the weekend. Line Extensions a Natural Fit for Economic Times... and Modiv Shopper
The focus at this year's Consumer Analysts Group meeting from the big brands is that this year will be an opportunity for brands to focus on brand extensions versus pure new product introductions. This makes sense for the brands, of course, since it's a lot easier to convince someone to try a new flavor or variety than something completely new, especially when shoppers are more cognizant of their total spending. Of course, line extensions are also a perfect match for the targeted media delivery that Modiv Shopper offers to brands. Who is a better recipient for a brand extension message or offer than the people who have bought your original product in the past... or are buying it on their current shopping trip?

A recent study by ICOM Information & Communications found that 22% of consumers were self-conscious about using coupons in retail locations - although the economic downturn has helped some get over their fears. Everyone's Searching for Coupons

A recent glimpse at Google Trends showed that five of the top 10 fastest rising searches at Google were related to coupons, including No. 2 "grocery coupons". While this obviously shows that the economic crisis is hitting many people's wallets, it also clearly points to the massive opportunity for digital offers delivered via solutions such as Modiv Shopper.
