    Three out of five ain't bad


    In the November/December issue of Retail Customer Experience Magazine, an article details "Top five tools retailers need to survive". Modiv's solutions nicely provide three of those five tools for the grocery segment:
    Self-service kiosks
    Scanners and smart phones
    One-to-one marketing
    So while it's not quite one-stop shopping, we're not a bad place for a retailer to start.

    In the News: Giant Users Rave About Shopper Convenience


    Great article today in the Maryland Community Newspapers about the introduction of Modiv Shopper (i.e. Scan It) at Giant stores in Maryland. A couple of nice quotes from satisfied customers include:

    "You're already checked and bagged by the time you get to the front," said David Entwistle, at the Giant on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. "They're going to have to add more check out stations because this idea is really going to take off."

    "I pack my groceries along the way," (Mary Lou Geoghegan in the Potomac store) said, while standing over a cart full of empty, upright bags waiting to be filled. "That way I can pack the groceries the way I like it."

    Coordinated Media Debuts


    Another Friday, another first for Modiv Media as our initial coordinated media campaign across all of our touchpoints at more than 300 Stop & Shop and Giant stores launched today. The promotional messages are touting the complete Thanksgiving dinner pre-order offering from Stop & Shop and Giant on DeliVision overhead and kiosk screens, as well as via location-targeted advertising on the Modiv Shopper devices.

    These messages all support the overall media mix the retailer is using to promote this limited time offer.

    Shopper Featured in Willard Bishop/Supermarket News Webcast

    Modiv Media's Shopper solution got a "shout out" from Willard Bishop in a Supermarket News webinar today: A New Framework for Adapting to the Fast-Changing Needs of Grocery Customers. In case you missed it, Bill Bishop called out Modiv Shopper as an example of how retailers are bringing the Personal Value Proposition to consumers today, and how solutions like these are a key part of customer marketing and service tomorrow. Industry veteran Gerald Friedler also sang Shopper's praises as a user, commenting on how the offers he receives are always relevant given his purchase history and were presented at appropriate points in the store.
